    This symtom of red leg or discoloration of lower legs is so common and I see it everywhere. There is a reason why doctors don't know what causes it. Plenty medication and treatment will not stop this until it gets really bad. The root cause is the poor diet of eating too much sugary foods, fruit and plant carbohydrate foods !! Cut out and lower these foods and replace with good whole fat and protein foods will clear it and possibly many other chronic problems. I'm living proof. Good luck with all your health journeys

    Professor Mark Whiteley pioneered endovenous surgery in the UK in 1999, performing the first endovenous operation in the UK in 1999 using radio-frequency ablation. He also invented the TRLOP technique to close incompetent perforating veins in the leg in 2001. This is now wrongly called PAPS by some, having been reinvented later. EVLT has now been replaced by a technique called Echotherapy, a completely non-invasive procedure.

    I went from nothing, no swelling, no pain, no discolouration, nothing, to a venous ulcer which I later found out was caused through a freak blood clot I suffered fifteen years earlier. Our UK NHS just kept sending me back and forth to a leg ulcer clinic just managing it for eight years. I wasn’t about to accept any more and I eventually found a Professor on FB who has three specialist vein clinics in England and his own college of Phlebology. I travelled four times to his clinic in London in 2018 had an Endovenous Vein Mapping Scan which revealed hidden varicose veins, so a few weeks later I had EVLT together with Transluminal Occlusion of Perforators, followed by a necessary eight week gap with Ultrasound Guided Foam Sclerotherapy. It was the best money I ever spent and I haven’t looked back.

    This world never stops to surprise me. My wife recently pointed it out to me that my ankles have darkened. I was alarmed and investigated it, turns out it can be a sign of a bad heart. I’m really panicking now. I have dark skins on my ankles on both feet. I’m worried this is a sign of something bad going to happen.

    Is this the better procedure then a phelebectomy?

    • @HomerSimpson-gr1uj
      @HomerSimpson-gr1uj 8 місяців тому

      Yes and no. Removal of the actual veins can lead your body to regrow them and the problem can reoccur. But using a high saline solution destroys the inner wall lining of the vein causing them to be scared and the bodies healing factor to eat away at the now dead veins which doesn't lead to regrowth.

      I was seen today and recommended to get this done and I asked the dr “what if I don’t get it done” she said it’s not life threatening, more of a cosmetic issue but to prevent further damage I would need to wear compression socks for the rest of my life except while sleeping, keep legs elevated avoiding sitting in chairs with feet on the floor and keep them active to promote blood flow

      @@user-pq8vh7ed8u I got stylish compression socks off of Amazon for about $25. for 3 pairs, I’m blessed to have a bed that elevates so I can lay on my bed and have my legs elevated easily and it’s comfortable, I started eating at the recliner in the living room, dr told me to avoid regular chairs where my feet are on the floor when possible and I started back at the gym to get blood flow in my legs again, I have no intention on getting this procedure done especially after watching it on UA-cam, I hope by sharing I can help you and anyone else that may read this

      This procedure is required when the valves in the vein don't work as they should, so the blood pools on the lower extremities instead of going back to the heart. This is not something cosmetic (when you NEED it) If you don't fix it then you end up losing your leg(s) with the progressive damage.

  • @user-pq8vh7ed8u
    @user-pq8vh7ed8u Рік тому

    What I'm trying to understand is, Everyone says get this treated or else. But no one is talking about the risks from treating them. I've heard horror stories. From even newer procedures. I know there are no guarantees. But being in worse shape after isn't good either. If u have slight deep vein reflux won't these veins just come back again. It's only ba temporary fix? Or am I wrong. I've heard a phelebectomy is a long recovery. If it's extensive

    1:35 I've been dealing with this problem for a few years now. I have swelling and darkening around the inside of my ankles and on the shins. A couple of weeks ago I accidentally kicked into a bag of tools on the floor as I was walking past it. A screwdriver was sticking out and it gouged into my shin. I didn't think I hit it that hard, but it peeled back the skin like peeling an orange. Because of the fluid buildup under the skin, I guess it is compromised and not as strong as it should be. Ughh. It left a nice big hole in my shin. It's healed up, but it was a hassle to deal with for a while. So yeah. It's time to get this underlying condition fixed once and for all.

      It could just be rough skin that dirt is sticking to better than the rest of your skin. Skin on your knees or any dry areas tends to hold dirt better than the rest of the leg and then look extra clean when its scrubbed off. Often itll be paler too since scrubbing off the dead skin will reveal the new skin underneath which hasnt seen as much sun as the upper skin levels. Obviously get it checked out by a doctor if you can, but don't stress yourself out unnecessarily. Stress can be just as unhealthy as just about anything. Its absolutely terrible for your body chemistry and hormone production etc to be constantly worrying.

    Here's what I did: 1.) Use a tumeric based soap. Mine has tumeric, aloe vera. 2.) Use an exfoliate cloth w/ the soap. Lightly exfoliate. 3.) Moisturize with a collagen lotion. That will reduce the inflammation and discoloring. You could see results in about a month. 4.) Be sure to drink water or unsweet tea every day! If you're overweight, start there. 5.) Eliminate the sugar and starches from your diet, b/c that causes your body to retain water.
